Otherwise known as: How I spend my time when I’m not with first graders.

1. Reading. I want to use this space to keep track of the things that I’ve most recently and/or currently reading.

*Rose Madder by Stephen King

*The Planets by Dava Sobel –I am currently re-obsessed with the universe and everything in it. Who cares if Pluto isn’t a planet anymore? It has a Belt of friends just like it out there past Neptune and a mission of its own scheduled to land in 2015. PS. this is super easy reading and has little to no crazy complicated scientifics in it. If you like astronomy (not astrology) but don’t want to get shoulder deep in physics, this is for you. It was a book my husband picked up at the Dollar Tree for wait for it… wait for it… $1. Worth the buck, I’d say.

-Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe –it’s banned books month after all, right?

*Firestarter by Stephen King (I’m on a SK kick. So sue me. It’s what I get for growing up with Austen, Dickens and Montgomery as a child.)

-Lord of Chaos by Robert Jordan (book 6 in the Wheel of Time a wonderful, soul crushing series. Each book is about 1000 pages long.)

*No Flying in the House by Betty Brock

*Shopgirl by Steve Martin

*finished within the past week or so
-currently reading

2. TV. As well as keeping up with that big black boxy thing that all of our living room furniture is strategically placed around in the biggest room in our tiny house. And because I go to bed around 9:30PM, what is important enough to be on the DVR.

-Top Chef
*This is something that both my husband and I enjoy. This season’s chefs seem to be much more talented and though, at times annoying, annoying in their own less annoying ways. I’m still pretty pissed that Hector got sent home so early, but Tom hates it when you don’t let the meat rest, and any good chef would watch previous Top Chef episodes, right? ha. Either way, I’m rooting for Brian and I want Mike I. to go home for being such a douche.

-Project Runway
*I am actually not enjoying this season as much as previous seasons. It seems pieced together poorly and some of the challenges (cough, cough Macy’s) are pretty silly. They’re also choosing some God awful pieces to win. Whatever, we still have peoples left, and I’m actually enjoying those representing SC.

-The Office
*Sweet. I just got caught up on the wedding festivities and *tear*.

-Community
*The husband and I are actually really enjoying this show. Of course, we love Joel McHale, but Chevy Chase in this is pretty freakin’ funny.

-The Universe
*Freakin’ sweet show, seriously. I watched one on Pluto (I’m telling you, I’m obsessed) and the other gas giants (*insert gas giants joke here*) and even though the History Channel is getting a little seizury on me, the information they give out is pretty interesting.

-How the Earth was Made
*I’ve been watching a lot of the History channel lately, and the most recent one I watched was on Yellowstone National Park and the volcano living underneath it. Better go visit it soon, or it may erupt before I get the chance…

3. Music. H’oh my gosh. We just made another trip up to Raleigh the weekend before last and picked up 43 CD’s. That’s right, you read 43. But one of the best parts was that we only spent $57.
*I’ve listened to quite a few of them, but whenever I start loving stuff, I’ll start listing it here. That is, of course, unless it’s Sting. He’ll always be here.

4. Video Games

-Uhhh… Beatles RockBand.
*We got this the day it came out. But don’t worry, we haven’t been playing this until we’re tired of it. Oh, no. We have strategized and we only play it on the weekends. That way, we don’t hate it. Good plan, right? So far my favorite song to “play” is still “Here Comes The Sun.”

-I’m sorry, I thought I had time for other bideo games, but I do not. What was I thinking?

about me

I am poodlegoose. I am a bit quirky, a bit of a tomboy turned girl. I am a music junkie, I read too much, I play on my DS too much, and I watch way too much tv on DVD. I would love to be a violinist/violist in a chamber orchestra and play my pretty little heart out. I am also extremely optimistic, I love being happy, and I love Sour Patch Kids until my tongue burns. I also love singing, I am extremely clumsy, I am allergic to metal, and I don’t do well in living up to other people’s expectations. Ok, that’s enough for now. Anything else, check out my "about me" page. That'll be enough. . . and then some.
